I showed up. Did you?
Last night when I was laying in bed, just before sleep, I could hear and feel the pounding of my heart. I marveled at its quiet, steady presence and how it has been that same solid presence through every single moment of my life, whether I was conscious of it or not.
Drifting into dream, I wondered about what first ignited its movement inside my mother’s womb, and then tried to comprehend just how long the heart’s labor has been.
My mind stretched across the rim of the Grand Canyon an unfathomable distance.
These are the things I ponder when on the edge of sleep . . . how about you?
